Our headquarters is located at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains near historic Golden, Colorado with an additional office located in Northern California (Redwood City).
About the Role
We are seeking a Staff Data Scientist to research and develop cloud-based clinical intelligence algorithms using high-frequency biometric data transmitted from medical devices, as well as clinical patient data captured in electronic health record systems. The candidate is expected to have experience applying advanced machine learning techniques in software (Python) deployed in cloud-based software systems. Knowledge of medical informatics and clinical workflows is preferred. Depending on the candidate’s experience and interest, this role may involved direct oversight of junior data scientists.
Implements appropriately tailored algorithms using biometric data to fulfill clinical needs using Python software
Defines and implements appropriate software testing plans for algorithm code
Uses mathematical first principles to propose best methods and can describe advantages and disadvantages of chosen method in comparison to alternatives
Proposes and delivers precise technical methodology for addressing vaguely specified product needs
Contributes to setting and fulfillment of algorithm performance standards
Provides mentoring and technical thought leadership to junior data scientists; may formally supervise others’ work
Requirements:
What We Are Looking For
MS or PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Informatics, or related field
At least four (4) years’ industry experience developing algorithms with medical device, internet-of-things, and/or clinical data.
Demonstrated experience developing data-driven algorithms which are embedded in software systems.
Expert-level programmer in Python software.
Competency with cloud-based software including Databricks and Google Cloud Functions.
Strong oral and written communication and collaboration skills
Proficiency with MS Office software like Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
High attention to detail
Ability to work under pressure in a startup environment
Work experience in healthcare settings is a plus but not a requirement
Job Type: Full-time – Exempt
Salary Expectations: $130-140K total compensation (based on experience and location)
