Under the supervision of the GEAR UP Director, the Coordinator for Digital Media and Branding

(Coordinator) is responsible for creating and managing high-quality and engaging media and print content, ensuring that designs align with GEAR UP’s standards and elevate the GEAR UP brand. These standards will be developed and maintained by the Coordinator. The Coordinator will lead a team of digital and print media assistants to propose, create, and deliver content in various formats as requested and needed to achieve digital media objectives. The Coordinator must bring an exciting and innovative approach to production, development, and maintenance of a consistent and effective GEAR UP brand and media presence.

Please be aware that funding for this position is awarded through a Grant/Contract over a specified period. Employment for this position beyond current Grant/Contract funding is contingent upon continued funding.

Essential Duties

Manage and maintain the overall quality and execution of media productions from project start to completion.
Create and update timely and effective content for print and digital advertising, posters, banners, flyers, website, social media, and other promotional materials
Coordinate efforts in timely dissemination and distribution of social media, digital, print and traditional media materials
Recruit, train, and manage a team of digital media assistants in the areas of graphic design, editorial development, content creation, and social media management
Create and maintain system to organize, manage, and provide easy access of all GEAR UP multimedia content, projects, and materials
Provide expertise and support in capturing, creating, and editing photography, and videography related to GEAR UP events and programming
Develop an aligned GEAR UP brand strategy across media platforms (website, social media, print media, email, etc.) and suggest ways of improving current program material
Grow and track online supporter base and traffic, while setting goals based on measurable outcomes and baselines
Remain current and proficient with new technologies, theories, practices, marketing, branding and other techniques for all media platforms
Communicate, research, and consult with CSUF Digital Print Services, IT, CSUF Brand Central and other relevant departments on campus, and any off-campus media production companies as necessary
Attend staff meetings and staff development sessions (including various mandatory meetings)
Represent GEAR UP and the Center for Educational Partnership (CEP) programs and California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) during university and community events
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Demonstrated successful experience in digital marketing, social media and graphic design

Strong prioritization skills with the ability to manage and complete multiple projects simultaneously within established time constraints and with attention to detail

Proficiency in various software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Bridge, Acrobat Pro, Microsoft Office and Google Suites)

Experience using videography/photography production platforms and equipment
Familiarity with video/photo file formats
Strong understanding of social media platforms and their analytics including, but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, SnapChat, Twitter, Youtube,
Knowledge of social media publishing and marketing tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Canva, Powtoon, Biteable)
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Ability to supervise, delegate tasks, and provide direction to a team of part-time staff
Creative and artistic skills
Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills
Experience in supervisory or related role, preferred
Ability to speak and write in Spanish, preferred

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in digital media, multimedia design, graphic/digital design, marketing, communications, journalism, public relations or related field Or a combination of education and experience including graduation from high school and training or coursework in a related field and at least two years of experience working in the field of digital media, branding, and graphic design
Master’s degree preferred
