Overview:
Element has an opportunity for an
Associate Metallurgist whose primary responsibility is to support the Metallurgy Lab Manager in running day to day laboratory affairs and testing.
Responsibilities:
Ensure work compliance to ISO 17025 requirements
Perform metallurgical analysis on metallic (ferrous and non-ferrous) components, generating test certification
Carry out material testing
The tests include
Micro Evaluation
Grain size determination
Macro examination
Micro hardness
Phase determination
General Metallurgy
Speak with clients regarding metallurgical issues
Manage technicians to carry out work as per the planning schedule
Be willing to assist in other activities from time to time that may be requested by the department manager to assist in the execution Element Technology annual targets and budget
Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in Metallurgy or related discipline
Minimum 0-3 years experience working in a laboratory or related metallurgical field
Excellent technical report writing skills
Good math skills
Knowledge and experience of safe operation of metallurgical testing equipment and operating in lab and / or industrial environment
Excellent organizational and team leading skills
