Seasonal Lab Technician to join our team.

Wow. That sounds a little confusing, right? It’s actually pretty simple. We make equipment. We install it in our customers’ plants, and we make sure it works well, and keeps working well for many years to come. And we’re darn good at it!
The products we make are heavy industrial equipment, like juice extractors, filling machines, high pressure processors, sterilizers, tanks and vessels, and many more. We have manufacturing facilities in several locations in the United States and around the world.
Responsibilities:
This position will work in our customer facility located in Delano, CA
This is a seasonal position based on the schedule of our customer, typically operating from October to June
Posses the ability to work in a laboratory environment
Conduct residue testing
Complete regular reporting
Maintenance functions necessary to operate the residue program
Develop effective relationships with packinghouse personnel and postharvest team
Work with Technical Service to ensure fruit samples are received per schedule
Posses the ability to work in a lab environment
Qualifications:
Requirements:
Mandatory:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience working in a laboratory
Muct have computer skills (able to use email, Microsoft Word & Excel)
Comfortable working with chemicals
Willing to work overtime including weekends as required
Conscientious and self-motivated: able to work without direct supervision
Must be able to read and adhere to procedures and policies
Preferred Requirements:
Associate’s Degree in a scientific field
Citrus processing experience
Vegetable and other fruit experience
Good basic laboratory skills (pipetting, measuring techniques, reagent preparation)
Experience with residue testing and reporting
Experience working with laboratory equipment
Experience with proper disposal of laboratory chemical and reagents
Physical Requirements:
Must be physically capable of:
Working 8+ hours per day, up to 7 days per week for extended periods during the processing season
Working around moving industrial machinery and exposure to machinery noise, chemicals, and fumes from associated products
Lifting, pushing, pulling an average maximum weight of 50 lbs.
Sitting, standing, walking, reaching, climbing, squatting and stepping up/down from material handling equipment
Working in moderate cold to extreme heat
Using hand tools
