We are seeking a reliable, motivated and responsible person to be part of our local business. Experience with Dogs and cats is essential, as is the ability to learn and take instruction. We require candidates to be fluent in English.
This is not a seasonal position. We are looking for a candidate that has longer term availability as this is a permanent position.We provide the highest level of care to our client’s pets and are looking for a person who knows how to deliver the ” wow” factor and take consistent pride in their work.
We can provide training and ongoing support and for the right candidate we are able to provide further training and certifications in the pet care industry, a flexible schedule and above industry pay rates as well as working with wonderful clients and fantastic dogs!You will be working in all weathers and it is a physical job. Responsibilities of Dog Walkers/Pet Sitters
One or multiple dogs to walk per half-hour session
During walks, pick up and throw away pet waste.
After walks, dog owners might request that you feed the dog as needed, or play with them a bit and check the water supply to ensure that the dog’s basic needs are met.
Pet Check-ins: dogs, cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs.
Check-in duties can include: litter box scooping, feeding, refresh water, play time, cuddles, light sweeping, cleaning up after pet vomit or pee.
Earning money while playing with dogs might seem like an ideal job. There are, however, some requirements:
Pass a background check.
You may have to go through regular pet care training and pass Lil Miss Pets walker assessment test.
Must be at least 18 years old with a high school degree
You should have knowledge of dog behavior. Excellent customer service skills, and respect for the privacy of pet owners are also necessary.
Familiar with the care of other types of pets such as cats, rabbits, and gerbils
Physically able to walk and handle ALL size dogs, large and small
Own a smartphone with camera to leave client updates
Genuine love and affection for all animals
Must have a reliable vehicle, insurance and a valid driver’s license
Flexibility and willingness to work some evenings, weekends, and most holidays
Willing to work outside in all temperatures and various weather conditions
The job consists of but not limited to:
walking dogs
feeding/giving fresh water/treats
picking up waste
socializing with pets
caring for cats
scooping litter boxes
giving cuddles and love
collecting mail or packages
send updates and pictures to owners
We are looking for a flexible schedule as things are getting busier but mainly M-F around 8am-6pm and some weekends and most holidays.
This is a very fun and rewarding job but you must be punctual, flexible, willing to travel to locations sometimes up to 20 minutes and comfortable outdoors in hot/rainy or unpredictable weather conditions.
