Description:IAM Hourly represented employees who currently work at the main (Sunnyvale/Palo Alto) unit, Santa Cruz, VAFB or Eastern Range facilities must apply to open requisitions on Brass Ring to be considered for the position.
Perform installation and modification of unique electronic test systems for end-item hardware. Operate, troubleshoot and maintain electronic ground support equipment. Provide complete laboratory support in the engineering development phase of electronic ground support equipment, including fabrication and testing of Company-produced special test equipment designed for system testing of complex hardware. Install, operate and maintain complex data transmission systems including fiber optics. Verify all test procedures and perform in-process and acceptance verification of special test equipment (STE).
Fabricate, assemble, set-up, test, operate and modify new and existing systems for test support of complex electronic systems and associated hardware, which includes, but is not limited to: data transmission, fiber optic, computers data reduction, power, data communication and other ground support systems. Operate and test the above equipment and systems, diagnose malfunctions, determine causes of failures, select and set-up test equipment, and record and evaluate such tests as required.
Exercise judgment and initiative within authorized limits to solve operating difficulties associated with such systems. Determine work methods when technical information is not complete and procedures and standards are not fully established.
Maintain, troubleshoot and repair electronic systems and digital interface electronics used for various test sites. Dismantle, move, set-up and operate entire test support systems for factory, environmental and other test sites. Work with test procedures, sketches, wiring diagrams, logic diagrams, interconnect drawings, schematics, other engineering information (whether verbal, written, complete or incomplete) and other authorized specifications to accomplish assigned tasks.
Operate, troubleshoot, repair and test assemblies and systems utilizing standard and special equipment which includes, but is not limited to: Digital Multi-Meters, frequency counter, logic analyzer, spectrum analyzer, oscilloscope (differential and storage), signal generator, network analyzer, power meter, data communication interlink and time domain reflectometer.
Witness and verify test procedures for in-process and acceptance verification of STE hardware. Verify fabrication, assembly, modification, installation, operation, troubleshooting, and repair of test devices, test equipment, cabling, test consoles, test complexes, and test systems. Ensure completeness and accuracy of appropriate test data and records.
Basic Qualifications:
Complete knowledge of electronic theory and practice necessary to accomplish the above duties. Thorough educational background and experience with digital logic equipment, systems and theory is mandatory. Ability to interpret complex logic diagrams, engineering blueprints and other related drawings.
Typically requires an A.A. in electronics or completion of a two-year program in electronics technology. Also requires two years of directly related experience.
Certification in the applicable process certifications such as solder, crimp, fiber optics and wire wrap may be required.
Requires the completion and certification in a program-furnished course in electronic test system equipment and procedures. Must possess knowledge of security regulations applicable to program peculiar activities.
Knowledge of vehicle test and acceptance verification procedures and of appropriate documentation.

Knowledge of LIMS, MetNet, IndySofy, and SAP.

Effective record keeping and reporting skills
Demonstrate strong customer service skills and ability to engage with internal customers.
