MEDICATION TECHNICIAN – SATURDAY AND SUNDAY AM SHIFT
FUNCTION:
Provides, plans, coordinates, and manages medication and care for residents.
LINE OF SUPERVISION:
Medication Technician reports to the RN
QUALIFICATIONS:

All employees who supervise and care of for residents must be at least 21 years of age.
Must have the verbal ability to communicate with residents, families and representatives of various agencies.
High school graduate or G.E.D. certification.
A minimum of 6-month experience as a Medication Technician or in a related field.
Completion of First Aid and C.P.R/ Certificate
Completion, in its’ entirely, all new hire forms, including but not limited to a Criminal

Record Statement.

Prior to employment, must be criminally cleared. Live Scan must be completed prior to employment or if verbally cleared by Licensing transfer forms must be completed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Pour and assist residents with medications according to Physician orders, medication training, and Company policies and procedures.
Re-order medications following the Company policies and procedures.
Keep medication room and cart clean and orderly at all times.
Ensure residents do not run out of medications.
Understand and follow all emergency protocols and respond to emergencies as directed and per facility training.
File appropriate paperwork in residents’ charts.
Keep medication room, cart, cupboards, and records locked when not in use.
Treat residents with dignity and respect. Provide privacy during personal care.
Make a significant contribution to the quality of life of the people who live in the community by initiating meaningful connections and interactions.
Transfer orders to the MAR as directed.
Order medical supplies as needed to meet resident needs.
Assist Caregivers as needed.
Contribute information vital to the development and implementation of customized service plans.
Review MARS after each cycle change and make changes accordingly and as necessary.
Assist with cost control by utilizing resources efficiently and in a waste-free manner.

Changes in a resident’s condition are reported to the Administrator and RN.
Resident and/or Caregiver concerns/problems are reported to the Administrator and the RN.

RESIDENT RIGHTS:

Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information.
Monitor Caregivers to ensure that all residents are treated fairly, and with kindness, dignity and respect.
Promotes and protects residents’ rights.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.75 – $17.50 per hour
Schedule:

8 hour shift
Weekend availability
