THE POSITION
The Development Associate will be part of a dynamic team working to permanently protect Marin’s agricultural land for agricultural use in ways that benefit healthy communities, clean water and air, diverse habitats, sustainable and regenerative agriculture, and climate resiliency.
This position supports the Data Services Manager in maintaining the donor database, and supporting annual fundraising, communications, and community engagement efforts and is responsible for data entry and gift acknowledgment. This individual is part of the Community Engagement team and provides additional support with customer service, community engagement events, volunteers, and special fundraising projects for approximately the other half of their time.
This is a hybrid office/ remote position. The individual in this role will need to be able to work in our Pt. Reyes office at least one day per week.
ABOUT YOU

AA or Bachelor’s degree or any comparable combination of education and work experience
Database experience, preferably in Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge
Proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Strong interpersonal and service-oriented skills
Detail oriented and able to prioritize work, set and meet deadlines
Experience with mass marketing communications and events tools a plus (e.g. Engaging Networks)
Strong and proactive communications
Collaborative, team player
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple simultaneous responsibilities
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relations inside and outside of MALT
An interest in regenerative, inclusive, local agriculture that provides local food, protects natural resources, sequesters carbon and affords dignified livelihoods to community members while addressing pressing problems of climate change, agricultural sustainability, and food security.
Demonstrated sensitivity to, and respect for, diversity, equity and inclusion

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages gift processing (checks, credit cards, EFT, online gifts) and prepares personalized acknowledgement letters for MALT’s 3,000+ annual donors
Collaboratively and persistently problem-solves with team to ensure accuracy and timeliness of data
Maintains accurate constituent records in database, following set policies and procedures
Coordinates recurring donor program
Serves as first point of contact for advancement team, responding to and directing inquiries via phone and email
Supports activities for donors, the ag community, partners, the public, and other stakeholders.
Coordinates, supports and executes engagement activities via electronic communications, events, hikes, and other connection opportunities
Assists MALT staff with special projects and mailings as needed
