Route Supervisor

Mid Valley Disposal is currently seeking applicants with supervisory experince and a CDL experience preferably within the waste or similar industry for our commercial driving positions such as;
Supervisor-Driver Route Supervisor with a commercial license
In the above-mentioned roles, you will work as a part of our driver team and will be responsible for the daily collection of solid waste and recyclables, typically on a specified rout ensuring compliance with all company policies providing safe and efficient day to day operations and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate would be committed to:
Maintain a continuous commitment to ensuring a safe work environment for drivers by investigating and removing any unsafe conditions, coordinating with maintenance regarding equipment issues, conducting safety training, and ensuring drivers are adhering to established safety standards
Follow and enforce all company policies and procedures
Plan and execute practical training and relevant new hire orientation for new drivers
Maximize the efficiency of routes by proactively identifying and removing potential obstacles for drivers (overloading, potholes, tree branch hazards, etc.)
Assist OM in the selection of new drivers by conducting road tests of prospective drivers
Maintain a radio presence with drivers; actively dispatch while in the field
Ensure meal & rest periods are taken by location personnel
Review and approve employee timecards
Function as a fill-in driver for any route in any of MVD’s four lines of business
Conduct quarterly route observation reports for all drivers and provides feedback
Assist OM with employee written disciplinary actions and coach employees as needed
Assist in preparing and delivering performance reviews with OM for assigned drivers
Coordinate with other MVD departments regarding special projects including cleanups, parades, and community events
Respond quickly and effectively to customer complaints
Fill in as a Route Driver as needed
Minimum Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
Operating a Class A or Class B vehicle
Air brake endorsement
Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook required
ADP
Minimum Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver License with a satisfactory driving record
Air Brake Endorsement
1-year paid experience with Commercial Driver’s License
Prior supervising/ management experince
Fluency in Spanish is preferred but not required. This is a full-time position with a benefits package. Salary rate will be determined based on experience and training of the candidate. Schedule will be Monday through Friday occasionally Saturday.
