SummaryThe Director, Investigations, Content Protection (“CP”) will focus on directing and supporting a team of investigators and analysts working on the content protection objectives of the Motion Picture Association, Inc. (“MPA”) and Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (“ACE”) members, including creators of entertainment content for audiences around the world.The CP team focuses on detecting and disrupting piracy threats by investigating the entities involved and devising enforcement plans in collaboration with the MPA and ACE members.The successful candidate demonstrates a passion for inspiring and collaborating with their team amidst shifting priorities and short deadlines, is a self-starter with a bias toward action, and has a hands-on approach. The ideal candidate has previously held positions managing enforcement or anti-piracy teams.This is a full-time remote position with a requirement to occasionally report to our office in Sherman Oaks, CA. Candidates must live in, or be willing to relocate to, California to be considered.Responsibilities

Oversee a team of Managers, Investigators, and Analysts executing the global content protection strategy.
Provide guidance and support to the team with a strong focus on team success and personal growth, by partnering with internal departments (i.e., HR, Finance, IT, and Legal).
Identify areas of improvement in team processes and projects, and collaborate with the Managers to implement change.
Manage external vendors to ensure the quality and timeliness of their deliverables.
Review comprehensive investigative reports ensuring they are well-written, well-reasoned, forensically sound, and actionable.
Recommend appropriate handling of cases and identify enforcement options, including both civil and criminal actions.
Other duties and projects as assigned.

Education & Experience Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required.
7+ years of experience managing others, preferably in anti-piracy, digital forensics, security incident response, threat intelligence, or similar.

Other Minimum Qualifications

Experience recruiting and managing teams, including performance management.
Experience building relationships with cross-functional departments.
Expert-level experience with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams)
Experience drafting and editing reports and assembling presentations.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and manage competing priorities and deadlines in a timely, efficient, and productive manner.
Creative problem-solving skills, including the ability to think outside the box.
Display sound judgment, critical thinking, and strong attention to detail.

Other Preferred Qualifications

Experience with open source investigation techniques.
Experience in cross-border investigations involving multiple jurisdictions.
Experience in copyright infringement investigations.
Knowledge of legal and illegal online content distribution methods, including streaming video, online file hosting, and peer-to-peer file sharing.
Understanding of computer crimes statutes and copyright law.
