Position Summary

Reporting to the Vice President of Procurement, the Director of Procurement, Manufacturing & Indirect will lead a team responsible for sourcing and supplier management strategies for all direct materials used within OPS manufacturing as well as for all Indirect goods and services across all of OPS.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for the development, execution and sustainment of the commodity strategies and supplier management for the direct material spend supporting all of the CK and MPP manufacturing facilities. Total spend of ~$250M across commodities such as Paper, Starch and Ink.
Responsible for the development, execution and sustainment of category strategies, savings plans and supplier management for all Indirect goods and services across all of OPS. Total spend is ~$150M across categories such as Logistics, MRO, Capital Equipment, Professional Services & IT hardware/software.
Responsible for developing policies, processes and resource requirements
Responsible for developing and managing the Procurement team and external service providers to execute the procurement responsibilities for Manufacturing and Indirect spend. Act as a liaison and drive collaboration between the business functions, the Procurement team and external service providers to deliver goals
Engage with business functions to identify sourcing opportunities, drive RFP process and competitive bidding. Ensure that supplier agreements are in place.
Build common purpose with key business functional leaders to create a collaborative approach to procurement support and supplier relationship management. Ensure we are addressing business functional requirements, operational efficiency, and cost performance.
Implementation of a cost savings management process, development of a savings pipeline, savings forecast, tracking of plan vs actuals. Drive clear quantifiable cost savings to the organization.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

10+ years of procurement or supply chain experience
5-10 years of leadership, management and team building experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related discipline

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Ability to lead the identification, development, execution and sustainment of Category/Commodity strategies
Skilled communicator, negotiator and deal maker with an ability to influence internal/external stakeholders
Strong experience with negotiating and managing legal contracts and developing standard contract templates
Strong finance background, ability to align initiatives to bottom line hard savings
Strong analytical skills to identify business insights that drive actions
Experience identifying and managing 3rd party service providers to supplement the capabilities of the internal organization
Proven track record building and sustaining high-trust relationships with internal stakeholders and key supplier partners while delivering against quality, service and cost
Ability to develop and adapt strategies to deliver against business targets and goals
Experience with purchasing a wide variety of commodities and categories including a broad range of Indirect goods and services
Excellent supplier relationship management capabilities. Ability to provide direct influence on suppliers if needed.
Experience with completing make/buy sourcing decisions and supporting internal stakeholders in assessing internal execution vs outsourcing services
Experience working in a global enterprise with multiple sites
Willing to collaborate and challenge a team to meet and exceed expectations while encouraging personal and professional growth
Experience leading large transformational change within Indirect Procurement a plus
Experience within the packaging and distribution industry a plus

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Position is work from home with expectation to visit OPS sites and suppliers as required
Travel expected to be ~20%
