Job Description:
Hatch Labs, Pacific Life’s Innovation Lab is looking for an innovation leader who will help expand our experimentation capabilities and drive value for Pacific Life by leading innovation initiatives. This leader will serve on the Innovation Leadership Team and will be a critical component of how innovation evolves at Pacific Life.
In this role, you may:
Establish experimental frameworks and methodologies
Lead Innovation projects focused on transformative innovation for Pacific Life
Define recommended technical requirements and sandboxing architecture
Develop relationships with business lines and translate needs into tangible innovation opportunities
Design and lead empathy research for various innovation initiatives
Guide teams within the business units leveraging Innovation Mindsets and Methodologies to achieve project objectives
Execute complex experimentations and drive tangible outcomes
Help build a pipeline of innovation opportunities and prioritize, and scope projects based on divisional and enterprise strategies
Be an ambassador of innovation throughout Pacific Life
Engage with the external innovation ecosystem to uncover new opportunities for Pacific Life
What it takes:
A bachelor’s degree; business, management, engineering or other related discipline – MBA / Masters preferred
8-10 years’ experience, with at least 3 year’s experience in innovations, innovation consulting, and/or start-ups
Extensive experience executing complex experimentations
Experience in the Financial Services industry, Insurance experience a plus
Proven experience leading innovation methodologies and driving business outcomes even while not always understanding the subject matter
Excellent writing skills and the ability to take complex subject matter and distill it into easy-to-understand language
The ability to direct, align, inform, and influence senior leaders and others
Strong presentation skills
Superior interpersonal and team-building communication skills
Attending networking events, seminars and conferences, including outside of work hours, as required to maintain personal professional development and to build business contacts
