Our Beverly Hills location is seeking a full-time Financial Counselor to join our growing team.
What You’ll Do
The Financial Counselor is responsible for explaining financial obligations to patients during the financial counseling session. The Financial Counselor will also be responsible for obtaining pre-certifications or authorizations and assist with any financing or third party applications such as Attain. The Financial Counselor must have good knowledge of the services and codes associated with each of the relevant reproductive cycles and procedures so they understand how to interpret the patients’ coverage and calculate the out of pocket deposits.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Arrange for financial meetings with all new patients and applicable returning patients to explain the financial costs of treatments.
Confirms that an up-to-date insurance verification is available for the counseling session.
Obtains patient treatment plan and calculates out-of-pocket costs based on patients’ coverage.
Reviews patients’ financial history to determine of there are any outstanding balances from prior services.
Reviews financial programs and assists patients with the application process, explaining Attain program as needed.
Ensures that all needed authorizations are in place prior to scheduled procedures.
Consults with patient, providing education on procedures and treatment plans, scheduling procedures and collecting payments.
Weekly follow-ups with prospective patients, tracking payments on each patient.
Act as a liaison with billing office to provide any information needed to ensure that patient accounts are properly managed.
Requirements
Strong problem solving skills, determining, projecting, and administering benefits.
Excellent interpersonal skills; able to work effectively with colleagues at all levels in the organization.
Excellent communication skills, including oral, written, and presentation skills.
Ability to coordinate and provide direction to vendors, insurers, and third party administrators.
Ability to develop and maintain the full array of benefits communications.
Proficient in MS Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
