POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Manager performs varied assignments with a high degree of responsibility directing the routine functions of the Human Resources department. This position is also directly responsible for employee-related COVID compliance, leave of absence and reasonable accommodation administration, safety and Cal/OSHA compliance, Workers’ Compensation, and other professional-level and administrative duties; interprets and advises managers and staff on employment laws and SCH policies and procedures; may assist with development of HR policies, procedures and processes; supervises HR processes to ensure efficient compliant operations for the organization. This position works with extremely confidential and highly sensitive information and must maintain strict confidentiality. This position supervises a HR Generalist and HR Coordinator.QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources is required or the equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the duties of this position. Professional certification, such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP is highly desired.
Must have experience administering leaves of absence and reasonable accommodations, safety and Cal/OSHA requirements and Workers’ Compensation. Previous experience with COVID employment compliance desirable. Sufficient knowledge and/or experience with recruitment and on-boarding functions, benefits administration and HR records management to provide supervisory oversight to HR staff. Human Resources experience must be recent and obtained working in a corporate HR department in CA. Previous experience as a supervisor or manager is preferred. Previous non-profit experience preferred.
Knowledge of local, state and federal employment laws, regulations and case law/court decisions, the ability to apply that knowledge to make sound decisions and provide guidance to others. Knowledge of principles and practices of Human Resources administration and the knowledge, skills and ability to carry out the duties of this position in a legally compliant, accurate and efficient manner within deadlines.
Driving is an essential function of this job. Employee will be required to furnish their own vehicle to be used in the course of employment. A valid CA driver’s license and minimum vehicle insurance coverage for CA is required.

Pay: $73,216.00 – $82,347.20 per year
