This includes researching grant opportunities from various sources that match the goals and objectives of the organization, working across departments to manage all aspects of grant development, from planning to writing to submission. The Grant Writer also contributes to broader development communications efforts, including annual reports and other development collateral. Works to support the department and the organization’s objectives in ensuring equitable, diverse, and inclusive access to healthcare and wellbeing in the Pajaro Valley and surrounding tri-county region among patients, partners, funders, staff, community, stakeholders and donorsThis position supports the organization’s mission, vision, and values through excellence and competence, collaboration, innovation, respect, commitment to our community, and accountability and ownership.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Major Responsibilities:
In alignment with the organization’s strategic plan and commitment to equity and inclusive access to healthcare and wellbeing the Grant Writer works with the Director of Fund Development and Communications to identify opportunities and to research, write, compile and manage timeline and content of all grant applications to ensure accurate and efficient collection and timely submission grant opportunities
Works closely with department staff, program staff and providers on grant proposals, collecting key content based on grant application timeline; requests relevant information, feedback and staff support as needed to complete grant proposals
Tracks and manages deadlines and gathers information – including data, budgets and all relevant documents/attachments and prepares, coordinates, writes and submits grant proposals and grant reports for government, corporate and foundation funders
Works with Fund Development Coordinator to gather financial information including salaries necessary to prepare proposal budgets and financial reports; serves as the link between program staff, finance staff, and operations and clinic staff to gather and track report data for report preparation and submission for active grants
Ensures compliance with all grant reporting as required by all institutional funders
Performs preliminary institutional prospect research and conducts in-depth evaluation of potential match with Salud’s objectives
Works closely with the Director of Fund Development & Communications to manage grant narrative content and respond to cross-department and external requests for grant-related organizational content including annual appeal projects, organizational website, annual report and special projects
Works with department grants management database and project management platform to manage and track accurate monthly reports and grant reports
As a member of the Fund Development and Communications Team, supports team efforts around special events, data management, budgets, and other projects as assigned. Provide general support to the development department during peak periods.

Requirements: Qualifications:
Minimum two years of experience with grant writing
Experience working in a deadline-driven environment
Able to work well in a fast-paced team environment, handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
Spanish language skills desirable
