Motion Designer
Formosa Interactive Seattle is looking for a Motion Designer to join our Microsoft MediaLab managed services team. The position is fulltime with benefits and is an onsite/hybrid role on the Microsoft campus.
As part of the Microsoft Xbox Product Services group providing video and digital media solutions, MediaLab is seeking a creative candidate to provide quality services around three key areas: visual design, motion graphics and editorial. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to excel under the pressure of deadlines while executing in both innovative initiatives and ambiguous situations.
The Motion Designer will engage with multiple groups across Xbox and be expected to both communicate and execute with clarity and purpose, driven by a strong combination of passion, drive and creativity in order to maintain the high quality and personal service that has come to be synonymous with MediaLab.
Responsibilities
Design, animation, 3D and video compositing, pre-viz; including mockups and brand development.
Interface and collaborate with key stakeholders from title teams across Xbox.
Provide concept and design services as required per project, including storyboards and style guides.
Ensure that clear, concise and prompt client communication / feedback is consistently maintained throughout project duration.
Build and maintain collaborative relationships with both internal teams and external partners.
Other duties as needed.
Qualifications/Skills
2+ years of experience in motion graphics and design – game-related production is a plus.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to handle conflict resolution.
Expert level command of professional media production toolsets, including Adobe After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro.
Basic knowledge or familiarity with 3D production toolsets, including Cinema4D, Maya, etc. is a big plus.
Strong project organizational skills, working with established structures and templates.
Ability to fluidly work across organizations and work independently on multiple tasks, while remaining open to new ideas.
Ability to manage working relationships and interactions with multiple teams and partners across multiple projects and disciplines.
Ability to identify and exploit time-saving and/or quality inducing plug-ins a plus.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
Additional Considerations
Broadcast design experience is preferred.
