POSITION DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Spring Hill School is seeking an Assistant to the Head of School. This position supports the Head of School and the Advancement Director and is responsible for providing administrative and clerical services to ensure effective and efficient operations.
Qualified candidates will possess well-developed communication and organizational skills whether in person, via phone, or in writing as well as strong computer skills including Office Suite and Blackbaud experience (preferred), be well organized, and have the ability to balance a variety of demands. The candidate must also be dedicated to the confidentiality and appropriate management of information for all TheSpring Hill School students, parents, faculty, staff, and Head.
The Spring Hill School seeks a responsible, dependable, and detail-oriented candidate to be the Assistant to the Head of School. The ideal candidate will be an experienced office staff with great organizational and time-management skills. This position also includes event planning and support for School events. This is a full-time, 12-month position reporting directly to the Head of School.
Administrative Support
Manage the Head of School’s schedule and meetings;
Schedule and coordinate board meetings as requested by the Head of School
Create agendas, compile and distribute Board materials; take Board minutes
Act as a liaison between Head of School and faculty, staff, parents, alumni, donors, and students;
Maintain professionalism and confidentiality befitting the office of the Head of
School when dealing with all school constituencies both internal and external;
Compose, edit, and disseminate appropriate correspondence from the Office of the Head of School;
Provide support to the Head of School’s development goals and responsibilities; liaise with the Advancement Office and the Gala Committee to support the
School’s fundraising goals;
Assist in organizing school events as advised by the Head of School;
Draft and edit letters, Head’s Updates, thank-you notes, and other correspondence and communications on behalf of the Head of School;
Take and distribute minutes regularly for the admin meetings, and for other meetings as requested; and
Community Engagement
As a representative of the Head’s office, it is expected that the Assistant to the
Head of School will actively participate in the community by supporting theStudent Life program. This may include chaperoning school events or other opportunities for community involvement that arise throughout the school year;
Collaborate, attend, and participate in all Professional Development days, training programs, orientation programs, benefit meetings, mandatory seminars, team-building exercises, and safety training/drills; and
Pursue professional development opportunities in and out of school; display a willingness and ability to grow, learn, explore new approaches, and practice self-reflection.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience;
2-3 years prior experience in a responsible Administrative position;
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and Google Applications, and online portal management;
Ability to handle highly sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality;
Experience in a non-profit or education setting preferred;
Comfortable in a tech-heavy environment; and
COVID-19 vaccination and booster or valid exemption are required.
