Position Summary:

Under the general supervision of the Director, the Program Coordinator creates and maintains all ESL, TEFL, and CDP student academic records and performs the full range of implementation for these courses and programs. The Program Coordinator helps oversee the smooth running of all aspects of these programs; collects, analyzes, and reports on test scores, student grades, and academic performance; oversees attendance recording and reporting; liaises with sponsoring organizations; and reviews, interprets and evaluates current academic services and makes recommendations for improvements; and provides award information for ESL, TEFL, and CDP ceremonies as needed. The Program Coordinator provides administrative support to the Director and CDP Manager as needed, to ensure the smooth-running operation of all ESL and TEFL programs.

$23.23 -$32.09

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in a field related to international education; or equivalent combination of education/experience.

Ability to communicate knowledgeably and clearly with international students/clientele. Experience working in an environment where sensitivity to a variety of international cultures. Proven abilities in independent task-prioritization, decision-making, problem solving, and analytical thinking. Superior skill in attending to detail and proven strong organization skills to plan, schedule, track, coordinate, keep others informed, and adapt to frequent changes. Experience planning, implementing and coordinating all logistics aspects of educational programs. Excellent interpersonal, oral, written, and public speaking skills, including the use of excellent grammar and spelling. Accurate proofreading skills. Experience in using good judgment with international students/clientele to successfully resolve unexpected issues. Proven excellent customer service skills, exhibiting a strong desire to help and welcome people and interacting with a professional demeanor to international students/clientele. Demonstrated expertise in working closely with international students/clientele. Expertise working with computer database systems and skill in retrieving and organizing academic, statistical, and/or financial research/data into clear and meaningful reports/presentations. Excellent interpersonal, oral, written, and public speaking skills, including the use of excellent grammar and spelling. Demonstrated ability to foster a collaborative team atmosphere and work effectively with academic and administrative personnel at all levels.

Preferred:

Experience working in an internationally-oriented educational environment. Knowledge of UC Policy and Procedures as they pertain to instructor hiring, course approvals, accounting, travel policy, general ledgers, purchasing, vendor relations, and PAL Card. Experience working in a self-supporting academic organization.
