Position Summary:
Scanning Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and ensuring accurate and timely scanning and indexing of paper patient health information into the hospital’s electronic health record system. Provides oversite of the scanning staff. Conducts quality performance audits to ensure documents are uploaded to the correct patient and visit.
Salary Range:
Annual Rate Minimum $58,500.00
Midpoint $81,100.00
Maximum $103,700.00
Required Qualifications:
Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
Understanding of HIPAA regulations and safeguarding protected health information (PHI)
Ability to identify, develop and implement process and procedure improvement
Knowledge of document imaging applications and processes
Ability to multi-task, prioritize and organize daily responsibilities
Two years experience working in healthcare with health records, performing health record maintenance
RHIT certification
Demonstrated supervisory experience, preferably in an acute care medical records setting
Previous experience working with medical files in a medical record environment
Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of medical terminology
Technical knowledge of Solarity, OnBase software applications and clinical information systems as relevant to health information management
