Job Description
Visa’s Global Data and BI team is looking for a highly motivated and Staff Product manager to build data products for Visa.
Visa is connecting the world through the most innovative, reliable and secure digital payment network that enables individuals, businesses and economies to thrive. Global Data Products team is fueling Visa’s ability to do so with data as a key enabler. This presents continuous opportunities to work on strategic and innovative data products that drive spend, build customer loyalty, identify new opportunities/ threats, and guides product strategies for Visa and our partners.
Essential Functions
The Product Manager’s primary responsibility is to build data products and solutions that deliver substantial value to Visa internal data users and product teams.
In this role, the Product Manager will work closely business teams, engineering, architects, global cross-functional counterparts to build, iterate new data products.
Drive definition, prioritization of features, stories and acceptance for agile teams working on the data products.
Hands on data exploration and analyses of large data to enable defining data driven stories and product features.
Leverage standard data management principles and align to organization data enterprise data strategy in building robust high quality data products
User centric definition of the data product requirement based on of various data consumer’s and business priorities.
Present the product requirements and feature through demos and in various management forums.
This position is open to candidates in the following cities: Arlington, VA and Foster CIty, CA.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office two days a week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
5 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
Preferred Qualifications
6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
The successful candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in data management or analytics. Demonstrated thought leadership and the aptitude to think creatively and identify new ways to innovate and differentiate products with evidence of tangible business results. Ability to work closely with other team members and key stakeholders in technology, product and the rest of the business.
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and related job experience required.
3+ years of experience in technical or business product management.
3+ years of experience with big data analytics and reporting,
Banking/payments industry as well as understanding of payments industry data and metrics is desirable.
Experience working as a product owner in an Agile scrum team.
Ability to clearly present the product value and requirements to end users and technology teams.
Must work well in highly collaborative, matrix and team-oriented environment-
Aptitude to collaborate with engineering teams to build robust, reliable and scalable payment solutions
Hand on technical expertise of big data, SQL, python, analytical, statistical tools and packages.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to think creatively to solve problems
Organizational and leadership abilities to influence, negotiate and drive results
Excellent interpersonal skills, strong verbal and written communications skills. capable of developing well-structured communication.
